چکیده
Sex differences in navigation have been a topic of investigation for decades and has subjected to various contradictory findings debates. The aim this work was compare the spatial memory men women tested different types tasks, while controlling strategies aging. It is generally thought that outperform higher scores on object location tasks. However, many studies fail control factors may bias one sex or other. We aggregated data 465 participants (349 young adults, 127 older adults) who took part conducted our laboratory, which include both published original unpublished data, order investigate differences. In these studies, we used number paradigms: virtual radial arm mazes, wayfinding task, an Morris Water Maze, invisible sensor task real-life model Maze. While results seem discordant at first glance, they demonstrate several can impact performance including spontaneous strategies, environmental characteristics, age. replicated showing favor proximal landmarks compared distal landmarks, better than position objects absence reference frames, but will poorer when requires specific angles, distances polar coordinates. Moreover, found aging, avoid use navigating maze show stronger reliance non-spatial men. On other hand, rely do so same extent as Our highlight need carefully take into consideration produce more harmonious understanding navigation. Finally, interaction between sex, age discussed terms its implications risk Alzheimer’s disease.

Cooperative robot team navigation strategies based on an environmental model
This paper addresses a flexible cooperative navigation system for small robot teams. The members of these groups move in formation, but with enough flexibility to be able to avoid obstacles and adapt to the environment shape. This approach is based on an analysis of the environment on a gridbased model that permits each robot to continuously evaluate the situation in which it is, in order to de...

متن کاملGenetic and Environmental Factors in Age-Related Hearing Impairment.
Age-related hearing impairment (ARHI) is a common condition with complex etiology but a recognized genetic component. Heritability estimates for pure tone audiogram-determined hearing ability lie in the range 26-75%. The speech-in-noise (SIN) auditory test, however, may be better at encapsulating ARHI symptoms, particularly the diminished ability to segregate environmental sounds into comprehen...
متن کاملEnvironmental and genetic factors in age related hearing impairment
Age-related hearing impairment (ARHI), or presbycusis, is a complex disease with multifactorial etiology. It is the most prevalent sensory impairment in the elderly, and may have detrimental effects on their quality of life and psychological well-being. The aim of this paper is to give an overview of the current data on ARHI, focusing mainly on environmental agents and genetic predisposition in...
